A band of noise, not one tone.
Pitch Arrangement for Tonal Control and Harmonics. PATCH takes the pitch lengths and tread-block images for a tyre, searches five million block arrangements, and returns the sequence that spreads impact energy across the spectrum instead of ringing on one tone.
The chosen sequence, drawn where it lives — around the tyre.
PATCH
Spread the impact energy across a band, instead of into one tone.
A tread with every block the same length puts all of its impact energy at a single frequency, and that tone is audible far beyond its share of the total level. PATCH takes the pitch lengths and tread-block images you already have, searches five million arrangements across twenty restarts, and lets you play back the result — optimised, uniform pitching and best random — before the mould is cut.
With generic coefficients the predicted level carries about ±3.5 dB — enough to rank designs, not to state margin against a limit. Paste in your own measured tyres to calibrate it and tighten the estimate.

The rest is easier to show than to write down.
